Counselling for Professionals, Leaders & Business Owners.
When you're the one everyone else relies on, it can be difficult to know where you turn.

Success doesn't protect us from struggling.
Many professionals, leaders, and business owners spend their lives supporting others, making difficult decisions and carrying significant responsibility. From the outside everything may appear under control, whilst privately finding it difficult to switch off, enjoy success or create the balance you've worked so hard to achieve.
Therapy provides a confidential space to pause, better understand yourself and create meaningful, lasting change.
THE DOUBLE-EDGED SWORD
Success is only part of the story.
Many of the people I work with are highly capable, thoughtful and successful in what they do. They're used to solving problems, making decisions, supporting other people and carrying significant responsibility.
Yet beneath that success, they often describe feeling unable to switch off, constantly thinking about work, struggling to be fully present with family or wondering why achievement never quite feels enough.
Therapy isn't about becoming less ambitious or lowering your expectations.
It's about understanding yourself more deeply.
Together, we'll explore not only what's happening today, but also the experiences, beliefs and recurring patterns that may still be influencing the way you think, feel, respond to pressure and relate to others. By bringing those patterns into conscious awareness, greater choice becomes possible.
As an integrative and pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist, I draw upon different therapeutic approaches depending on your needs. Alongside understanding how the past may still be shaping the present, we can also work in a solution-focused way, helping you identify where you want life to be heading and, where appropriate, integrate clinical hypnotherapy to support meaningful and lasting change
SOME OF THE CONVERSATIONS WE MIGHT HAVE
No two careers or lives follow exactly the same path.
The people I work with come from a wide range of professions, businesses and leadership roles, yet many describe similar underlying experiences.
For some, it's feeling unable to switch off. For others, it's the pressure of carrying responsibility, balancing work with family life or questioning why success doesn't always bring the fulfilment they expected.
Rather than seeing these as separate challenges, they're often interconnected. Together, we'll explore not only what's happening today, but also the patterns that may be shaping how you think, feel, respond and relate to your work, your relationships and yourself.
Performance, Pressure & Purpose.
For many high achievers, work becomes more than simply a career. It can become closely connected to identity, self-worth and the expectations we place upon ourselves.
Perhaps you find it difficult to switch off, feel guilty when you're resting or notice that achievement never quite feels enough before the next goal appears.
Together, we'll explore the patterns beneath those experiences, helping you build a healthier relationship with success, ambition and yourself.
Leadership & Responsibility.
Whether you're leading a team, working in HR, managing organisational change, accountable for targets, sales, budgets, risk or strategic decisions, or simply feel that others rely on you, therapy provides a confidential space where you don't always have to be the one with the answers.
Together, we'll better understand the pressures you're carrying and how they may be influencing both work and life beyond it.
Business & Balance.
Whether you're employed, self-employed or leading your own business, work can gradually become more than simply what you do. It can become part of how you measure yourself.
Financial security, responsibility for others and the desire to create a good life can all be powerful motivators. Together, we'll explore how those motivations may be shaping your choices today, helping you build a life where success, relationships and wellbeing no longer have to compete.
EXPERIENCE MATTERS
Experience. Insight. A Grounded Approach
Hi, I’m Andrew (Andy)
A counsellor, psychotherapist and former senior HR leader who understands both the psychology of people and the realities of modern working life.
Before retraining as an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I spent more than twenty years working in senior HR, talent and leadership roles, coaching managers and directors, supporting employees through organisational change and helping businesses navigate some of their most challenging moments.
Alongside my corporate career, I've also built and run my own businesses, so I understand the realities of leadership, financial responsibility and the challenge of switching off when others depend on you.
Throughout my career, one thing has remained constant.
People are rarely held back by a lack of ability or motivation. More often, they're living according to patterns they never consciously chose—patterns that once helped them achieve, adapt or succeed, but which over time may begin to affect relationships, wellbeing and the ability to simply enjoy life.
Together, we'll create a calm, respectful and confidential space to better understand those patterns, reconnect with what matters most and move towards a future that feels more balanced, intentional and fulfilling.
Reflect. Understand. Move Forward.
How I work.
Every person arrives with their own experiences, relationships and story. My role isn't to tell you who you should become, but to provide a safe, confidential space where you can better understand yourself and the patterns that may be influencing your life today.
Together, we'll explore recurring thoughts, emotions and behaviours, recognise unhelpful cycles that may have developed over time, and understand how past experiences can continue to shape the way you think, feel, respond and relate to others in the present.
With greater awareness comes greater choice, creating opportunities for meaningful and lasting change.
Reflect
A confidential, non-judgemental space to slow down, make sense of your experiences and explore what's happening beneath the surface.
Understand
Together we'll develop a deeper understanding of your emotions, recurring patterns, relationships and the experiences that may have shaped how you respond today.
Move Forward
With greater self-awareness and clarity, you can begin making choices that feel more authentic, sustainable and aligned with the life you want to create.

Ready to take the first step?
If you've found your way to this page, there's a good chance something has resonated.
Perhaps you're used to being the one others rely on. You keep things moving, solve problems and carry responsibility, often putting your own wellbeing to one side. Over time, that can become exhausting.
The first step is to book an Initial Consultation. This is a 50–60 minute appointment where we'll explore what's been happening, what you'd like to be different, and whether my approach feels like the right fit for you.
There is no pressure or obligation to continue afterwards. If we both feel we're the right fit to work together, we'll agree a plan for ongoing therapy that supports both your personal wellbeing and your professional life.
A few things you may be wondering.
-
Many professionals, leaders and business owners tell me that even when the working day ends, their mind doesn't. Thoughts about emails, decisions, deadlines or tomorrow's to-do list can continue long into the evening, making it difficult to fully relax or be present with family and friends.
Often, this isn't simply about having a demanding job. It can reflect deeper patterns around responsibility, achievement, control or feeling that you always need to stay one step ahead. Together, we'll explore what's driving those patterns, helping you develop a healthier relationship with work, rest and yourself.
-
For many high achievers, slowing down can feel surprisingly uncomfortable. You may find yourself constantly looking for the next task, feeling restless on holiday or believing you should always be doing something useful.
Sometimes, productivity becomes closely linked with self-worth, making rest feel undeserved rather than necessary. Therapy provides the opportunity to better understand where those beliefs may have developed and how they continue to influence your life today, creating greater freedom to enjoy success without feeling guilty for taking time for yourself.
-
Yes. Work doesn't exist in isolation, and many people notice that the pressures of work gradually begin to influence life beyond it. Long hours, emotional exhaustion, difficulty switching off or constantly thinking about work can affect communication, intimacy, family life and the ability to be fully present with the people who matter most.
Together, we'll explore not only the pressures you're experiencing now, but also the patterns that may be shaping how you balance responsibility, relationships and your own wellbeing.
-
Not at all. Therapy isn't about lowering your ambitions or encouraging you to settle for less.
Instead, it's about helping you better understand yourself, recognise the patterns that may be driving your ambition and decide whether they're still serving you in the way you want them to. Many people discover they remain just as motivated and successful, but feel calmer, more balanced and better able to enjoy the life they've worked so hard to build.

Yes. Before retraining as an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I spent more than twenty years working in senior HR, talent and leadership roles, coaching managers and directors, supporting organisations through change and navigating complex workplace situations.
Alongside my corporate career, I've also built and run my own businesses, so I understand many of the realities of leadership, financial responsibility, organisational change and the challenge of switching off when others rely on you. That professional experience sits alongside my therapeutic training, allowing us to explore both the practical pressures you're facing and the deeper patterns that may be influencing how you respond to them.
