Sometimes nothing is obviously wrong, yet something no longer feels quite right.
Perhaps you've reached a point where life no longer feels as fulfilling as it once did. You may feel disconnected from yourself, uncertain about what comes next or aware that you've been living according to other people's expectations for so long that you've lost sight of your own.
Therapy provides a safe, confidential space to slow down, better understand yourself and reconnect with what matters most, helping you move towards a life that feels more authentic, meaningful and aligned with who you are.
WHEN LIFE NO LONGER FEELS LIKE YOUR OWN
Reconnecting with yourself.
Our sense of identity doesn't stay the same throughout life.
Relationships change.
Careers evolve.
Families grow.
Loss, success, illness, parenthood, retirement or simply getting older can all quietly reshape the way we see ourselves.
Sometimes we adapt so well to meeting expectations, fulfilling responsibilities or becoming the person others need us to be that we gradually lose touch with our own needs, values and direction.
Many people describe feeling disconnected from themselves, uncertain about what they want or wondering why life no longer feels as fulfilling as it once did.
Counselling isn't about finding one perfect version of yourself. It's about creating space to understand who you are now, what matters most to you and how you want to move forward.
Understanding Identity, purpose & self-discovery.
Questions about identity and purpose are a natural part of being human. They often emerge during periods of transition, after significant life events or when life has become so focused on responsibilities that there has been little opportunity to reflect.
Feeling lost doesn't necessarily mean something has gone wrong. Sometimes it's a sign that you've outgrown old ways of living, coping or defining yourself.
Although these experiences can feel uncertain, they often become opportunities for greater self-understanding, personal growth and meaningful change.
You may recognise some of these experiences.
Feeling like you've lost a sense of who you are
Wondering what you really want from life
Feeling successful on the outside but unfulfilled within
Struggling to make important life decisions
Feeling disconnected from yourself
Questioning your purpose or direction
Feeling stuck between who you've been and who you're becoming
Reaching a stage of life where you're questioning what comes next
Realising you've spent years prioritising everyone else's needs
Feeling uncertain about what comes next
Wanting life to feel more meaningful
Feeling that something needs to change, but not knowing what.

A PERSONALISED APPROACH BUILT AROUND YOU
Working together in a way that suits you.
No two people arrive with the same experiences, challenges or goals, which is why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.
I work in an integrative and pluralistic way, meaning I tailor our work around you rather than expecting you to fit a particular therapeutic model.
My work is grounded in Person-Centred principles, with the therapeutic relationship sitting at the heart of our work together. Depending on your needs, goals and preferences, we may also draw upon Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused approaches, mindfulness and Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy, where appropriate and agreed.
The aim isn't simply to talk about what's happening, but to better understand yourself, recognise recurring patterns and create meaningful, sustainable change.
Ready to take the first step?
If you've found your way to this page, there's a good chance you've recognised something in your own experience.
You may already know what you'd like support with, or perhaps you're simply looking for a therapist whose approach feels right for you.
The first step is to book an Initial Consultation. This is a 50–60 minute appointment where we'll explore what has brought you to therapy, discuss what you're hoping to gain from counselling, and answer any questions you may have. It's also an opportunity for us both to consider whether my way of working feels like the right fit.
As an integrative and pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist, I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Therapy is tailored to you, your experiences, your strengths and your goals.
There is no pressure or obligation to continue afterwards. If we both feel we're the right fit to work together, we'll agree a plan for ongoing therapy at a pace that feels right for you.
A few things you may be wondering.
-
Life's responsibilities, relationships, careers and significant experiences can gradually shape the way we live until we no longer recognise our own needs, values or priorities.
Counselling provides a space to reconnect with yourself and explore what feels important now. -
Yes. Many people experience periods where they question who they are, what they want or whether their life still reflects the person they've become. These periods of uncertainty can often become important opportunities for growth and self-understanding.
-
Absolutely. You don't need to have all the answers before starting therapy. Many people begin counselling simply knowing that something doesn't feel quite right. Together we can gently explore what's been happening and help you develop greater clarity, self-understanding and confidence in the direction you choose to take.
